Nine years ago today Ashley and I got married back in Texas. Â One year ago today, we were out celebrating our anniversary. Â Today, I am writing this at my kitchen table in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Â If you had asked me nine years ago or even one year ago if I had this planned or even considered it and the answer would be no. Â Yet here we are. Â Our pastor at the church here in Cambodia said something a few weeks back that continues to stick with me. Â He said (and I probably butchered the actual quote) “You are being equipped right now for a work that God will do later on.”
I look back and think about that now. Â Ashley was teaching back in Texas, honing her classroom management techniques and discipline procedures. Â Now, she is using those same tools to teach kids here. Â I worked my way through the ranks at TD Ameritrade and honed my business and management skills. Â Little did I know that God was prepping me for this new part of my life helping Alf Evans start and run Kam-Air Wakepark.
All of this to say, pay attention to what God is doing in your life right now. Â What could you be doing at this point in time that God might end up using for a completely different purpose later on.
Oh yeah, Happy Anniversary babe! Â Technically, I am writing this and it’s still November 19th back in Texas. Â 11:50pm on November 19th, but it’s close enough. Â I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us over the next year.
